8 Reasons to Love Sliders

Located slopeside in the beautiful Jordan Hotel, Sliders is a pleasant surprise to skiers, snowboarders, and hotel guests alike. A perfect summer and fall wedding venue, a gastronomic winter adventure, and springtime’s goggle tan central, we could fill a leather-bound book with all the ways we’re crazy about this place. But since we love Sliders from White Cap to Jordan Bowl, here’s just a taste of eight in no particular order.

  1. Slopeside Gastro Pub
Who would’ve thought such a thing existed? Take your typical pub food and add an elegant culinary flair with favorites like the Chicken Fried Steak, the Thanksgiving Panini, and the Jordan Burger. Then put yourself right on the edge of a beautiful cruising trail, Lollapalooza, and you have a supreme eatery for lunch or dinner.
  2. Best Lunch Spot Showdown
Around here, the Best of Bethel Awards  are kind of a big deal, and Sliders is a multi-year winner in many categories. A crowd favorite for the Best Lunch Spot around,  a new menu, ever-awesome panoramic views, plus a deck for extra sunny days brought this category back to Sliders for the 2016 awards.SundayRiver-4
  3. Wings on Wings
Wings are a thing of beauty and Sliders does them best. First, we have the Dark ‘n’ Stormy Chicken Wings made with Gosling’s Ginger Beer and Black Seal Rum sauce with sesame, soy, and Maine maple syrup that combine awesome Asian flavors with sticky sweetness. Then, there’s the Maine Blueberry BBQ Wings, corn breaded and shaken up with the house-made BBQ sauce, plump blueberries, and Maine maple syrup. We don’t really need to describe why that’s delicious, right? Top off that list with Sriracha wings, and you’re in for a chicken-y treat.
  4. Boozy Bar Selection
Thirsty? With over thirty varieties of bourbon, specialty cocktails ranging from their signature Dark N Stormy, to the Jalapeno Margarita and the Spicy Pickle Martini, and an unbelievable selection of Blood Mary’s concocted from a house-made tomato juice, peppadew pepper, and horseradish blend, there’s no question where you should go. The Sliders mixologists are up on the latest and greatest trends, but they also know how to keep it simple with the classics.
  5. Spring Deck Scene
After a winter of powder days and chilly air, spring is a welcome time at the mountain to let your bones thaw. One of our favorite past-times is skiing and riding the impeccable spring corn in Jordan Bowl before ducking over to Sliders to grab a highly coveted spot on the deck for some delicious grub, live entertainment, a nice beverage (see number 4), and a goggle tan.Sliders Dark N Stormy
  6. Wine and Beer Dinners
Whether you’re sipping blends from around the world with a winemaker or throwing back local brews, nothing beats the Wine and Beer Dinners at Sliders. These new dinner events pair the menu items perfectly with the featured beverages. Constantly complemented by live entertainment, these late evening feasts are perfect for anyone who appreciates the finer things.
  7. Maine’s Favorite
When you think of Maine, you certainly think of lobster, and it’s not just a summer treat. The Maine Lobster Sliders are mini bites of heaven with dill aioli, roasted red peppers, and lemon juice on a brioche bun, while the Maine Lobster Mac ‘n’ Cheese drenches pasta, bacon, caramelized onion, and that delicious crustacean, in a Gouda cream sauce.
  8. Picture-Perfect Weddings
In our humble opinion, the only way to say “I do,” is slopeside. Sliders makes for a gorgeous wedding venue from the outdoor ceremony space beside the Lollapalooza trail, to a cocktail hour on the deck, and reception inside, all offering incredible views of Jordan Bowl. There’s no better location for your nuptials.
