Our Holiday Wish List

When I’m nestled all snug in my bed, it’s not necessarily sugar plums dancing in my head. After talking to the right people, I rummaged through Sunday River Sports to find the hottest gear of the season to fill your holiday wish list. Our extra helpful (and devilishly good looking) models are outfitted in the following garb.

Holiday Gift Guide

For him:

  1. Marker Ampire Helmet, $129
Comfort is the name of the game. This polycarbonate dome piece boasts a MarkAir vent system, RTS fit system, and the user-friendly magnetic Fidlock 0G closure snap.
  2. Spy Platoon Goggles, $170
Available with Spy’s signature Happy Lens technology, you’ll be seeing a whole new world with the Platoon Goggles. Tack on the Anti-fog 5.5 base ARC spherical dual lens with anti-scratch protection and you’ll see every twist and turn the mountain has to offer.
  3. Mammut Stoney GTX Jacket, $550
Complete with Gore-tex and Ajungilak OTI Element insulation (say that three times fast), the Stoney GTX is an extremely functional piece of outerwear. From the helmet-compatible detachable hood, to the two large external pockets and sneaky internal pockets, you’ll be warm, dry, and looking amazing.
  4. Mammut Stoney HS Pants, $300
Waterproof, yet breathable, lightweight yet durable—the Stoney HS pants meets your needs and then some. Our favorite feature: leg height adjustment, because getting your pants stuck in your bindings is the worst.
  5. Hestra Fall Line Gloves, $150
Hestra is the king of handwear. The Fall Line glove, made from water-repellant cowhide and a super soft polyester lining keeps your hands toasty all day long without losing dexterity.
  6. Leki World Cup Trigger Slalom Poles, $119.99
Most people think that there isn’t much to a ski pole. Leave it to Leki to change your mind with a high-strength aluminum shaft, Tube Balance System, airfoil aerodynamic technology, and an ergonomic grip.
  7. Atomic Nomad Blackeye TI Skis, $799
An on-piste ski by nature, the Nomad Blackeye TI from Atomic craves an advanced-to-expert skier looking to bust crud and float light powder. Speed is no problem with Shockilla Dampening to smooth your turns, and the Step Down Sidewall 2.0 Construction to hold up at top speeds.

For her:

  1. Mountain Force Almond Beanie, $139
We imagine this hat is what heaven feels like. The wicked soft wool and cashmere blend cozies up against your head, and the raccoon fur pompom takes care of the rest.
  2. Maui Jim Ho’okipa Sunglasses, $189
Bring a little summer sunshine to your winter ski look. Polarized lenses and the curved frame construction keep your face and eyes safe from the elements.
  3. Volkl Silver Mirror Jacket, $329
This soft-as-can-be jacket with attractive color blocking is cute and functional. It has a fully seam sealed SENSORTEX outer bi-layer, with a SENSORloft 100 insulation, and all the sneaky storage pockets you could want, and an adjustable hem.
  4. FlyLow Daisy Pants, $220
Fitted in all the rights places, the pants don’t lack for style or specs. Though they seem lightweight, their YetiLoft insulation is hearty enough to keep you toasty, the waterproofing keeps you dry, and the Cordura reinforcements mean you’ll have these pants for a long, long time.
  5. Spyder Women’s Collection Ski Mitten, $75
With an over-the-cuff gauntlet to keep the snow out, understated embroidery, and both ThermaWeb and Thinsulate insulation, these are the mitts to keep your fingertips snug and warm.
  6. Scott Koko Poles, $49.99
Everything about this pole screams lightweight, yet durable, from the S2 Aluminum Alloy Shaft to the P-Lite ergonomic grip, and the hardened steel Cone Tip.
  7. Rossignol Temptation 88, $649.95
These skis are for the ripper who can tear up everything from cord to powder and whatever else the mountain wants to throw at her. With Rossi’s Auto Turn Rocker, extended sidecut, Air Tip, and light wood core, the Temptation 88 is light with some pop as you throw it edge to edge.
